A beautiful decorative view of the Augustinian bridge in Bruges. This medieval bridge is named after the Augustinian canal, the waterway it spans. The name refers to the Augustinian monastery that was once located here. The monastery was founded around 1276 but did not survive the French Revolution. It was sold in 1797 and gradually demolished in the following years. For clarity, the Augustinian bridge still exists today and is frequently used daily. The painting was created around the 1940s.The artist signs it in the lower right-hand corner. The painting is in good condition and delivered without a frame.
